NOTES File Names The files are simply identified by chapter. Thus, chap02.mws is the worksheet containing the solutions to chapter 2. All Maple 6 files are appended with "mws". Split files No files have been spit, but some files are quite large and it may be necessary to split them if memory is limited. To do this, simply load the file (but do not evaluate), and then split the file into two or more files by deleting whole sets of questions. In making up the separate files, however, it is necessary to ensure that each sub-file contains the supplementary packages that need to be loaded. The following lists the supplementary packages used in each chapter. Chapter Supplementary packages 2 None 3 None 4 with(linalg) with(plots) with(DEtools) 5 with(linalg) with(plots) with(DEtools) 6 with(linalg) with(plots) with(DEtools) 7 with(plots) with(DEtools) 8 with(linalg) with(plots) 9 with(linalg) with(plots) with(DEtools) 10 with(linalg) with(plots) with(DEtools) 11 with(linalg) with(plots) with(DEtools) with(plottools) 12 with(plots) 13 with(plots) with(plottools) with(linalg) 14 with(linalg) with(DEtools) 15 with(linalg) with(plots) with(DEtools) with(plottools) Use of spreadsheets Maple 6 uses a spreadsheet facility that is most convenient. Ready use has been made of this throughout, but the user must be aware of its limitations. Feedback The author welcomes comments on both the textbook and the solutions manual.
